 Scholarships 

 

College and Universities provide a limited number of merit-based Scholarships each year to entering freshmen. Normally, qualifying high school seniors who gave been admitted by January 15th preceding the fall term of initial college enrollment are automatically considered. No application is necessary. Awards are based on merit and are dependent upon available funding. Colleges and Universities will determine the merit criteria and the number of Scholarships to be awarded annually

A limited number of Scholarships may also be awarded to the following students, provided that the funds remain available:

  • Out-of-state high school graduates with a minimum SAT I composite score of 1100 (or ACT of 24) and a competitive rank in class.
  • Out-of-state transfer student who have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better with a minimum of 30 semester hours earned.

 International Scholarships 

 

Normally but not in all cases depending on one College or University to another, International student who meet the following criteria may be eligible for scholarship and will be recommended by IPI to apply to the Director of Financial Aid:

  • Have completed at least 30 hours at the admitting College or University in a degree-seeking program; and
  • Have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25; and
  • Demonstrate mitigating circumstance that affect the ability to pay attendance cost as documented at admission.

 

 

 
 Sholarship Eligibility Policy 

All scholarship awards require full-time enrollment to a College or University unless otherwise specifically stated in the terms of the award contract. Students may not receive scholarships for semesters in which they are enrolled less than full-time, nor will semesters of eligibility be extended to the end of the academic career. Scholarships apply ti the academic year only, exclusive of summer school, except where otherwise stated

  • Students may never receive any combination of scholarship, financial aid, and other awards that exceeds the total cost of attendance for the academic year.
  • Students must remain in good standing with the College or University Honor Code, as outlined in the student Handbook.
 Scholarship Renewal Policy 

There are certain general standards for renewal of Scholarships that vary from one College or University to another. Recipients must complete at least 24 semester hours each academic year, excluding Summer School, unless otherwise specifically stated in the terms of the awards contract.

Recipients of all Scholarships must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0, unless otherwise specifically stated in the terms of the awards contract.

If the Scholarship is renewable and the student maintains the required academic standards, the Scholarship will be renewed automatically.

Renewals are made in the summer of each year for the upcoming year.

Students who fail to meet the renewal requirements will be granted the opportunity to appeal in writing.

Scholarships are awarded for up to, but never exceeding, four years from the initial term of college enrollment.
