The University of Bridgeport is an international, co-educational, comprehensive university founded in 1927. The University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The University has a renowned international faculty. Class sizes are small, so you can work closely with your professors. Location!
The University of Bridgeport's 50-acre campus on long island sound borders the 300 acres of playing fields, beaches and picnic areas in seaside park. Beautiful Victorian homes dot the campus, and many are used as offices for student services. In the Arnold Bernhard Art & Humanities Center, there are seven floors of design studios, rehearsal rooms and two theatres. Dana Hall, the technology and science building, has the latest laboratory equipment. There are four residence halls at UB...three have water views.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR UNDERGRADUATE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
The Undergraduate International Scholarships are offered to encourage academic excellence and student leadership amd to continue UB's tradition of enrolling a "Community of Scholars" from around the world. The grant and scholarships are available yearly based on satisfactory academic achievement and good standing at the University. Students must be enrolled full-time and make normal academic progress. All undergraduate applicants are considered for these scholarship awards once all application materials are received. The University of Bridgeport does not offer any full scholarships.
ELIGIBILITY Scholarships are available for first-time applicants entering in the fall and spring semesters only. These applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and English proficiency. Students with musical talent and athletic abilities are also eligible. see table below for details.
APPLICATION Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for the appropriate scholarship. To be considered, a student must submit all the following documents
- Submit the Application for International students. Including a non-refundable application processing fee-check or money order-(Made payable to Ideal Perspective International Inc) for disbursment to University of Bridgeport. An application will not be processed unless the application fee of $35.00 or $70.00 is included. 1/2 of either amounts will be automatically computed to cover IPI data management and processing fees to UB.
- Submit official Copies of Original transcripts (In English Translation) - These will include a secondary school and all post-secondary school records. Academic records (transcripts, mark sheets, examination results, diplomas, certificates) for ALL secondary and ALL post-secondary schools must be provided. (APPLICABLE FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS)
- Submit official syllubi or course description for ALL post-secondary (University) academic work completed so that it may be evaluated for possible transfer credit (APLICABLE FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS)
- Personal statement (ALL APPLICANTS) - see section 28 of the application form.
- Submit word-for-word English translation in the same format as the document. It is important that the that everything on the document be translated.
- Demonstrate English Language competency. Please see information listed under "English Language Requirement" above or on page 10 of the application form for further information. All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or enroll in the University's English Language Institute (ELI)
- Submit the financial statement for international students acompanied by a bank statement no more than six months old in the same name as your sponsor. See page 6 of your application
- Submit a clear copy of your passport information page

* The Grade Point Average is calculated in the University of Bridgeport by converting your grade, marks, examination results, etc. to an American grading equivalent with accepted practice used by universities in the United States.
**All candidates must submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam results. While the standard Achievement Test (SAT) in not required (except for Athletic Scholarship), it may be submitted in lieu of the TOEFL. Candidates will be notified of the scholarship awarded by the office of Admissions.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
Proficiency in English can be demonstrated in one of these ways:
- A minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 on the paper-based test or 173 on the computer-based test in needed for undergraduate programs. Undergraduates can also demonstrate their proficiency by attaining a Verbal SAT score of 400 or better. For paper based-test or 213 on the computer-based test is necessary. The TOEFL is administered in many places around the world. You must request that the Educational Testing Service send your score directly to the University of Bridgeport, have Ideal Perspective International can do this for you if you are already working with us.
- An acceptable score on the English Language Assessment Battery (ELAB) Test administered by the University's English Language Institute upon arrival at the University of Bridgeport.
- Success Completion of the Intensive ESL program offered by the University's English Language Institute.
- Receipt of a grade of C or better in one semester of English Composition at an accredited U.S. College or University.
If you have not met the University English Language requirement in one of the ways listed above, you can study English on the UB campus.


ADDITIONAL GRADUATE REQUIREMENT BY PROGRAM
The School of Business (MBA)
- A minimum GMAT Score of 400 is required for consideration to the MBA program ONLY. However , students with no GMAT scores or insufficient scores can still apply as conditional admission may be granted. For more information about examination, you may visit The Educational Testing Service website at http://www.ets.org/
- Submit a resume or C.V. reflecting work experience, if applicable. However, students with no work experience may still apply.
The School of Engineering
- The Graduate Records Examination (GRE) is recommended but not required for any Engineering program of study. Please submit a resume or C.V., if applicable.
The school of Education and Human Resources Counseling (M.S.) and Education (M.S or Ed.D.)
- A clear statement of purpose indicating reasons for pursuing either a M.S. Counseling or Ed.D in Education is required.
- If post-secondary (University) studies were done outside the United States, a course-by-course evaluation of all degree work is required. Please contact an academic evaluating service for more information (http://www.wes.org/) Please note: this evaluation is ONLY required of students interested in pursuing a Master's or an Ed.D. degree in Education.
- A TOEFL score of 550 PBT or 213 CBT is required for the M.S. and Ed.D. in Education.
- The Program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D) requires GRE or MAT test results.
Nutrition Institute (M.S. In Human Nutrition)
