Western International University (WIU) was founded in 1978 as a private, non-profit institution and regionally accredited in 1980. In 1995, WIU was acquired by Apollo Group, Inc. and becoming a for-profit subsidiary of one of the leading educational corporations in
WIU's main campus, in northwest Phoenix, is conveniently located adjacent to the Black Canyon Highway. A second phoenix metro area campus is situated in the East Valley suburb of chandler, and the most recent Arizona Campus located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The southern Arizona campus is located on the Fort Huachuca Army post in sierra Vista. Campus classrooms are designed to encourage student and faculty interactions and discussions. Computer facilities for hand on instruction are readily available to students, as are various audio visual aids. Learning resource centers at each University campus provide staff-assisted access to online research resources. In addition to campus programs, Western International University provide on-site coursework in classrooms at Maricopa County. WIU is located in northwestern Phoenix, Arizona's capital and one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, both in terms of population and employment. The inflow of technology driven businesses, international communities and increased tourism have contributed to this tremendous growth. With over 2.5 million residents, Phoenix is famous for it's sunny skies, world-class accommodations, beautiful scenery and outdoor recreation.
Often referred to as the "Valley of the Sun", the dry, sunny climate of Phoenix allows year-round enjoyment of outdoors sports, such as swimming and golf. Besides the conveniences of a large city, the area's mountains, canyons, rivers, lakes, forests and Sonoran Desert provide spectacular scenery and range of recreational opportunities.
The worlds famous, Grand Canyon is 395 Kilometers north of the city.

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)
- 4 Intensive level, High Beginning-Advanced
- 23 hours of instruction per week
- Take from 2 to 8 months of ESL classes
- Sessions begin every other month

Complete the Financial Guarantee section on the reverse side of the international Student Application Form if you require the F-1 Student visa.
Include a USD $100 nonrefundable application fee
Submit a tuition deposit (USD $1000) if you require the F-1 Student Visa.
Upon arrival at WIU, ESL students take WIU's English Proficiency Test to place into the appropriate level.
Students applying for a degree program should include all the necessary documents requested under the Official Academics Records sub-topic.

Wester International University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, to offer courses and programs leading to certificates, the Associate degree, Bachelor (art and sciences and professional curricula) degrees, and Master (professional curricula) degrees.

Complete WIU's International Student Application Form.
This form is required for undergraduate, graduate, certificate and ESL programs.
English Proficiency
Prove English Proficiency by meeting one of the following requirements:
- Take WIU English Proficiency test upon arrival
- Take the CELSA examination on-site at the university 70 is the minimum acceptable score
- Request that your IELTS score be sent directly to WIU by the testing service. Minimum band score of 6.5 required
- Request that your TOEFL score* be sent directly to WIU by the testing service. Required scores

*Students with a TWE score below 5 will be required to take WIU's Business Writing Course.
- Show graduation from a U.S. high school. Minimum 2.0 grade point average required
- Undergraduate applicants entering with 12 or more college credits must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Graduate applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale

FINANCIAL GUARANTEE
Complete the Financial Guarantee section on the reverse side of the application. The bank must certify, with an authorized signature and bank seal/original stamp, that sufficient funds are on deposit. An official letter from the bank may be substituted. This is a U.S. Government requirement for the issuance of the F-1 student Visa
Application Fee
Include a USD $100 nonrefundable application fee
Tuition Deposit
A tuition deposit must be submitted if you require the F-1 Student Visa. The tuition deposit must be received before the I-20 will be issued. The deposit will be applied to your first course (or first session of ESL). The deposit is 100% refundable if you are not admitted, or if your visa request is denied.

- Undergraduate $322 per credit
- Graduate $360 per credit
- EMBA $375 per credit
- ESL $2000 per 2 month session

Total numbers of credits required for graduation:
- Bachelor 126 Credits
- Masters 40 Credits
- EMBA 40 Credits
- ESL 1 to 4 sessions of ESL may be required depending on the English Proficiency Test Results
*The U.S. Government requires undergraduate students on tje F-1 Visa to take a minimum of 24 credits per year.
**Additional Prerequisites may apply. The U.S. Government requires graduate students on the F-1 Visa to take a minimum of 18 credits per year.

International Programs Office (IPO)
WIU recognizes the level of trust placed in he University by students who leave their home countries.
Thus, additional support is provided through the IPO. Assistance is offered to students prior to and upon their arrival in the U.S.
Services provided at the IPO include:
- Facilitating the admission process
- Assistance with housing
- Orientation
- Immigration advising
- Sponsoring student club activities
The IPO will ease the student's adjustment of life in a new country.
The fundamentals such as opening a bank account and acquiring driver's license are simplified by this office. Through-out the student's stay at WIU, the IPO will assist in making this academic and life experience truly positive.

Flexible Schedule
WIU recognizes that the diversity of its student body necessitates a flexible and practical approach to learning. WIU's flexible schedule enables students to expedite their academic progress.
- New classes begin every month, enabling students to take one or more classes at a time in order to shorten the length of their degree program
- Classes meet one a week, in the evening, over a two-month session
- Applications are welcome year round
At WIU, the attributes of International and nontraditional educational approaches are combined, with the emphasis being on practical application.

Executive MBA
WIU's Executive MBA program is designed to prepare practicing managers to prepare for the world of international business. Admission to the program is highly competitive due to it's elevated level of intensity.
